Our base camp looked like a cross between "Anatevka" in the movie "Fiddler on the Roof" and Tucson, Arizona in the late 1800's. It was dusty, deserted, hot (110 degrees every day), and no vegetation. |

Each day, we traveled by jeep to nearby villages (usually between 15-30 miles). These rides were beautiful, but made us queasy because there were no shocks on the jeeps; so it was a very bouncy ride over deep ruts and mostly unused trails, and so dusty you could hardly breath. |

This was our FIRST dental team!! Some villages did not have electricity; Dr. Gayle & Nita were usually working with a flashlight and every day they had a long line of people waiting to see them. Once, they had to extract seven teeth at once! |

Dr. David joined this trip thinking he would do only general medicine. But the need for his skills as a gynecologist was so great that he felt like he treated all the women in Southern Tyva!! |

We brought with us a laboratory machine, donated by our friends in Germany, that would do 14 different blood test. James, a registered nurse, is taking a blood sample for the test. |

Eric a teenage believer who came with his dad, was a fantastic example to the kids in Tyva. It was amazing for the Russians to visit with such a young believer. Many Russians believe that only old women are believers but here was a young man from the USA, sharing his love for Christ. Eric was a BIG influence on the young people who came to our clinics. He touched the hearts and lives of many boys and girls who are now thinking about their relationship with God! |

It was obvious to us that our prayers had been answered as far as people's hearts being open. Every day people prayed to ask Jesus to come into their heart. Lindsey is telling the kids about Jesus. |

Every day our lay volunteers handed out numbered tickets to the village people who had to wait for their number to be called before seeing the doctor. During this waiting time they shared their love for God by singing, playing games with the kids, and telling their testimonies. |
