Moscow Medical Program

The Moscow Medical Program offers Christian medical professionals a life-changing opportunity to volunteer with us here in Moscow. You will consult Russians concerning their medical problems, participate in a mobile medical clinic to a nearby poor region, and will have an opportunity to tour Russia’s fascinating capital city during the evenings and weekends.
The program is flexible and "tailor-made" to suit each individual who comes to serve. We accommodate medical volunteers at various times throughout the entire year, although we will NOT schedule a MMP in Moscow during our regularly scheduled expeditions to the remote places of Russia. Please click here for these dates. Our program is open to doctors, dentists, nurses, dental hygienists, chiropractors, med-techs, residents, interns, and last but not least, even medical students who are in their clinical clerkship years.
The following are some of the opportunities in which you may be involved. Please note that the activities listed are contingent upon availability.
Program Cost
The cost for the 2-week program is $2200 per person or $1500 for a 1-week program. The program begins on a Saturday and ends on a Saturday. An initial deposit of $1000 is required to reserve your space in the program, and the balance is due 8 weeks before departure. Non- US residents may pay upon arrival in Moscow or by clicking here.
We can accommodate only a small number of medical professionals each year.

Additional Costs
Visa / LOI (Letter of Invitation)
A visa is required for travel to Russia, and a LOI is required to apply for your visa. Once we receive your program application, and you have been approved, we will begin helping you through this process. Since some of our visitors already have a Russian visa, the costs of these documents are not included in your trip fee. The LOI will cost $70. After receiving your LOI, you may apply for your visa. The cost for your Russian visa will usually run $150, but can be as much as $350 for same day processing. To become more familiar with obtaining a visa to Russia, please see the following Websites: www.russianembassy.org or www.traveldocs.com (for applicants from the US).
Transportation to Moscow
Because our team members arrive from Europe, Canada, USA, and even the Far East, our fee is based upon “arrival” in Moscow and does not include air/train tickets to and from Moscow.
Food
To allow for individual tastes and flexibility, the program does NOT include lunch, dinner and any snacks; you may buy what you want to eat for these meals. There are several small Russian stores and markets near our guest apartment, and we have a kitchen where you can cook. Our staff may even cook for you, if you buy a little extra food!
Optional Extras
Translators
On weekday evenings, after program hours, we will be happy to provide a translator to accompany you around the city. The cost is usually about $30. Excursions such as concerts, the world renown Bolshoi ballet (about $100) , the famous Moscow Circus (about $15), and Kremlin or Armory tours (about $20 each) can be arranged at your expense.
