You can keep Agape alive and strong by saving your pocket change or by saving a $1 or more a day!

Agape needs NEW monthly supporters for a dollar a day or more. Why? Salaries for our Russian staff to meet rising living costs, medicines, supplies, electricity, transportation— everything has nearly doubled in price in the last few years.

Saving a $1 a day is easy!

Collect your Pocket Change and send it on to Agape each month. Read on for more creative ideas on how to save a $1 a day. You may end up saving MORE than a $1 a day. Either way, you will be helping to keep Agape healthy AND help us take the Gospel to the "Ends of the Earth"!

25 + Ways to Save a Dollar a Day

This is a list of several ways to save about $30 a month or a dollar a day.

Cut back on what you do:

  • Cancel TV service or downgrade to a plan that saves at least $30 a month
  • Cut out buying ONE soda or coffee a day – make or bring your own
  • Downgrade/Cancel cell phone or landline service. Do you need both?
  • Cut out one or two meals of “eating out” and save the difference
  • Car Pool. Figure out what you save at the end of the month send the difference.

Adding to what you already do:

  • Empty your “pocket change” into a jar each day and send to Agape.
  • Round up in your checkbook to the next dollar amount; or add $1 to your check amount in your checkbook– send the extra money at the end of the month.
  • Use coupons and consider them money – every coupon used (or doubled) send the coupon amounts to Agape.
  • Don’t spend rebate checks, cash back refunds, save it and send it.
  • Money found in washer/street gets saved into the “pocket change” jar.
  • Borrow from the library instead of buying books. Save the difference.
  • Bring lunch to work- calculate what you save and send that amount.
  • Buy generic and save the difference
  • Check around to make sure you are getting the best deal for insurance – the difference goes into savings
  • Call credit card companies to “round up” to the next dollar on your purchases bill, and send the “change” to Agape.
  • Write checks for over the amount ($1) send the monthly difference to Agape.
  • Rent a movie instead of going to the theater and save the difference
  • Stop at the “thrift store” to find what you need before spending money at the department store
  • Sit down and do a budget- and pay yourself an amount each month

Making additional money:

  • Sell items in garage sales. old toys, sports equipment, bake sales, Ebay. etc
  • Sell items from other people’s homes (meaning: sell for family/friends, from yard sales, estate sales, auctions)
  • Pick up trash, fix it up and sell it
  • Bank your raise- right there can be the whole year’s worth of savings (~360$)
  • Send or tithe your IRS refund check - Since you are already living on less
  • Offer to do odd jobs for neighbors/friends.
  • Sell your used textbooks
  • Sell your old cell phone and save the difference

Use your imagination to see what you can do and circle or mark it on this sheet, and send the amount saved to Agape each month. It can make a “world” of difference for the “unreached” people groups in Russia.
